New open space gallery in the Dessau

A new exhibition in public space invites visitors to a special excursion through the city.

The open space exhibition “Invisible Places” was thematically redesigned for the reuse of the existing elements by the Stadtmarketinggesellschaft Dessau-Roßlau mbH. On the 15 newly designed picture banks, the “Most beautiful places in our city” are presented as a temporary city gallery with 29 photo motifs.

Local and regional photographers were asked to send in their very personal and most beautiful views of the sights of Dessau-Roßlau. The impressive result can now be experienced by tourists as well as the citizens of the city on a pathway between the main train station and Kavalierstraße.

The approx. 3.5 km long route invites visitors to take an informative walk through the city, can also be experienced digitally via a QR code and is also intended to whet their appetite to visit the original locations.

The photo impressions will be on display until spring 2022. In the future, other topics are planned as an open-space gallery, such as urban development, urban history and urban culture, among others, each as temporary exhibitions in this interesting and appealing format.

Our special thanks for the realization of this project go to all photographers involved, the executing advertising agency pidea, the construction company Klemm, the parish office Dessau St. Johannis as well as the family of municipal offices, especially the municipal archive Dessau-Roßlau.
