World Heritage Day bike tour
Get to know the three World Heritage Sites in Dessau-Roßlau from a different perspective on World Heritage Day on 04.06.2023. Accompanied by the Margot Schoch, the approx. 3-hour bike tour begins at the Historic Cemetery.
The cemetery bears the signature of Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff, the creator of many of the buildings and grounds in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dessau-Wörth.
World Heritage Site Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom. You can find out which (Dessau) personalities are buried here during a short tour. At the Tiergarten Bridge, participants will get a brief insight into the uniqueness of the UNESCO biosphere reserve “Middle Elbe”.
The tour then leads to and into Georgium Castle. A short tour of the first floor shows the history of the castle, its inhabitants and the picture gallery. The bike tour ends at the Kornhaus.
Interested parties can accompany the bike tour in its entirety or visit individual
visit individual stations.
The tour starts at 2 p.m. at the bicycle stand next to the Historic Labor Office, August-Bebel-Platz. At about 4 p.m., the group will arrive at Georgium Castle.
The tour ends around 5 p.m. at the Kornhaus.
