The Anhalt Picture Gallery Dessau celebrates
On June 8, 2024, the Anhalt Picture Gallery Dessau opens its doors and invites visitors to the park and Georgium Palace from 2 pm to 10 pm to celebrate the reopening together. In the palace itself, the paintings in the permanent exhibition can be viewed free of charge, while experts provide information and invite visitors to talk. Picnic blankets can be unrolled on the meadows in front of the castle. Catering stands will provide refreshments and also offer the opportunity to order a picnic basket or picnic box in advance. In the afternoon, the festival will be accompanied by the classical sounds of the “Orbis Quartett” ensemble from Berlin, while in the evening the band “Free Elements” from Dessau will provide entertainment with music of various styles. There will also be entertainment for children. A puppet theater takes children into the world of fairy tales. Historical children’s games encourage children to try them out. Colorful lanterns can be created in the flower garden house, which light up the park in the evening.
At nightfall, the castle façade serves as a projection surface for illuminations with works of art from the Anhalt Picture Gallery.
