“The Nutcracker” celebrates its premiere, Ferdinand von Schirach can be seen as an actor for the first time in “Regen” and “Jurassic Park” is celebrated again.

On Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., Ferdinand von Schirach will be a guest in the already sold-out Großes Haus with his new play “Regen”, in which he can be seen on stage as an actor for the first time. At the Old Theatre on Friday at 7:30 pm, a look back at Steven Spielberg’s first “Jurassic Park” film becomes a journey into one’s own childhood. In his play “Jurassic Park (… or Life Finds Its Way)”, director Klaus Gehre approaches the dinosaur park myth with the naivety of children at play – and re-sorts the iconic cinema moments that have become deeply engraved in our collective memory.
On Saturday, the ballet highlight “The Nutcracker” celebrates its premiere in the Großes Haus at 7:00 pm. Stefano Giannetti stages Peter Tchaikovsky’s “Magic Flute of Dance” as a wintry dream story with a modern-day view of a romantic 19th-century world. Likewise, on 21 October at 7 pm, the “75 minutes of finest theatre art” of “Jurassic Park (… or life finds its way)”, according to MDR Kultur, can be experienced again in the Old Theatre.
On Sunday at 2:45 pm in the Old Theatre, the popular coffee house music
series returns after a long time. At “Coffee in the Salon”, the Melange
Quartet of the Anhalt Philharmonic Orchestra presents salon and
coffeehouse music – from opera and operetta potpourris to Strauss
waltzes and 1920s hits.
