Opening hours of cultural institutions between Christmas and New Year's Day

Some cultural institutions are also open between Christmas and New Year.

The Dessau Zoo welcomes its guests on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 9 a.m. to noon. On all other days, the entrance gates are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as usual.

The Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie Dessau offers access to the cabinet exhibition PRINCESSES’ CHRISTMAS in the Georgium Palace on Christmas Day and Boxing Day as well as on the other days until December 30 from 10 am to 6 pm. New Year’s Eve the doors to the exhibition will remain closed. New Year’s Day and then until January 9, the cabinet exhibition will be open again from 10 am to 6 pm.

The joint exhibition of the Dessau City Archive and Museum of City History, “Sugar from Beets – A Fuel of Modernity,” which will be on display in the Orangery at Georgium Palace until January 31, can be visited after the Christmas holidays from Dec. 27 to Dec. 30, and after New Year’s Day from Jan. 2. From 24.12. to 26.12. and from 31.12. to 1.1. the Orangerie is close.

The Hugo Junkers Museum of Technology will open on Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On the Christmas holidays, December 25 and 26, it is not open. Admission will then be available again from Dec. 27 to 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the doors remain closed. They will open again on January 2 during regular opening hours.

The Bauhaus Museum will be closed on December 24, 25, 26 and 27, as well as on December 31 and New Year’s Day. Otherwise, the regular opening hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. apply.

On the other hand, the Bauhaus building in Gropiusallee, together with the Masters’ Houses in Ebertallee, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from December 27 to 30 and in the New Year from January 2.
