The Anhaltisches Theater Dessau will kick off its 229th season on September 2 at 7 p.m. with the traditional grand opening concert on the theater forecourt. As every year, members of all divisions will present a diverse program that will arouse curiosity about the productions of the new theater and concert season.

For example, rousing excerpts from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” ballet, Zeller’s popular operetta “Der Vogelhändler,” Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” and Szymanowski’s opera “King Roger” will be performed. Outstanding compositions from these great works and much more await the audience on this special musical late summer evening on Friedensplatz – the ideal opportunity to get in the mood for an exciting new season and to find out about the new program and the attractive theater subscriptions.

On September 3, Stefanie Wüst will present her program “Let`s play Weill” at 3 p.m. in the hall of the Eichenkranz in Wörlitz, a foray through the compositional oeuvre of Kurt Weill, beginning with early songs, through Brecht songs and chansons, to the musical hits of the American era.
