Garden Dream Lounge nominated for Urban Transformation Award 2022
In spring, the Stadtmarketinggesellschaft Dessau-Roßlau mbH responded to the call of the Competence Center for Urban Redevelopment and applied for the Urban Redevelopment Award with the Garden Dreams Lounge in Dessau’s city center.
Saxony-Anhalt. The Gartenträume Lounge was first set up on Dessau’s market square in 2020 and has enjoyed great popularity ever since.
The previously rather dreary square in front of the town hall has become a green oasis of well-being in which young and old alike like to spend time enjoying and lingering.
On November 10, the winner of the competition will now be announced in Naumburg at a festive awards ceremony. In 2022, the award will be presented for the fifth time by the Competence Center Urban Redevelopment
together with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs and will be presented under the motto “Shaping cities – revitalizing city centers”.
In addition to Dessau-Roßlau, this year’s nominees included Magdeburg,
Wernigerode, Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Halle (Saale).
Hannes Wolf, managing director of the city marketing company is looking forward to the
10 November: “Already to belong to the twelve nominated ones, our whole team was very pleased. Afterwards we made it even into the closer selection of only five candidates. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed
if there is still more in it. For us however the reached is already a large honor and that the garden dream Lounge for us in Dessau the
undisputed number one for us in Dessau, is anyway out of the question.”
