City marketing company Dessau-Roßlau celebrates birthday

Five years is not a big anniversary, but still an important period for such a young company as the Stadtmarketinggesellschaft Dessau-Roßlau mbH. A time in which much has happened that has changed our city and is therefore worth a report and a short review:

The marketing of the city of Dessau-Roßlau as a livable place to live and work, an attractive business location as well as an interesting tourist destination were the starting points defined before the start of the city marketing process, which were to receive support with a focus and have since formed the core tasks of the company.

What was still the objective at the start of coordinated city marketing in May 2016 has been increasingly filled with life in recent years.

Recognizability and an attractive, uniform external image are indispensable for effective city marketing. Already in the first year, a basic design guideline was developed for all marketing publications to ensure that a uniform level of quality is maintained in the external presentation of the city. As a result, a modern and uniform brand identity was established for the entire city, which is also reflected in the contemporary and attractive tourist information office at the new location in Ratsgasse.

Today, the Stadtmarketinggesellschaft Dessau-Roßlau is divided into five areas: cultural, tourism, economic, online and strategic marketing, whose tasks are carried out competently and professionally by a highly qualified team.

The city marketing company looks back with pride on what has already been achieved.

With creative concepts for the city center, city marketing has become a driving force for pleasant stays and interesting experiences in the city:

In addition to the Garden Dreams Lounge with regular live music on the Open Stage, which was successfully established in 2020, the cooperation with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in connection with the opening of the Bauhaus Museum Dessau and the “100 Tables” festive table were among the highlights in 2019.

With the annual Garden Kingdom Summer, StadtLesen Open-Air, World Heritage and Garden Kingdom Day, City Summer, the internal campaign “Dessau-Roßlau am Drücker” and the recently relaunched tourist website are just a few of the many previous projects of the city marketing company.

With strategic location marketing for a clear profile as a business location, projects were developed and implemented in cooperation with the Office for Economic Development and other partners. Examples of this are the awarding of the city’s start-up prize, the marketing of the honorary service card and the “Returnee Day” job fair.

The success of the work of a city marketing company depends essentially on how it is accepted and carried forward. For this reason, Stadtmarketing Dessau-Roßlau would like to thank all the companions, supporters, fans and likes of the past five years for their support, good cooperation and trust in the work done so far and all the critical voices for constructive feedback in direct discussions with the company.

The city marketing company would also like to master future challenges. The city’s self-confidence, which has been strengthened in recent years, is a good starting point for raising the profile of the city of Dessau-Roßlau outside the region – because Dessau-Roßlau has a profile. So things are moving forward and the city marketing team is looking forward to it.
