Cup match derby between DRHV06 and SCM
On 21 October 2025, Dessau’s Anhalt Arena will be the venue for a very special handball celebration. SC Magdeburg will travel to Dessau for the DHB Cup match, where they will face Dessau-Roßlauer HV 06 in the second round. It will be a real derby in Saxony-Anhalt, which is sure to provide goose bump moments, not only in terms of sport but also emotionally.
For DRHV06, it is already a highlight of the season. After the team defeated Tus Vinnhorst 31:28 in the first round with a lot of commitment and passion, the big favourite from Magdeburg now awaits. The fact that Steffen Weinhold drew this very duel has been causing anticipation among fans, players and officials for weeks. The SCM, on the other hand, will enter the competition in the second round as usual – and immediately face a prestigious derby.
The match should have taken place at the end of September,
but had to be postponed due to the SCM’s participation in the IHF Super Globe.

All tickets are completely sold out. The exclusive advance sales period for season ticket holders was over in no time, and tickets were also snapped up quickly when they went on general sale. So one thing is clear: the Anhalt Arena will be filled to capacity and transformed into a real cauldron.
While SC Magdeburg is naturally the favourite going into the match and has its sights set firmly on reaching the round of 16, Dessau will do everything it can to upset its big brother from the Bundesliga and perhaps even cause a cup sensation. With home advantage, a sold-out crowd and the concentrated support of its own fans, this could well be possible.
