Open Monument Day 2025

Nationwide day of action under the motto:
‘Valuable: priceless or irreplaceable’

This year, Open Monument Day once again invites visitors to rediscover the uniqueness of historic buildings, works of art and places. It is not the material value that makes a monument special, but the craftsmanship, its history and the memories associated with it.

Monument bike tour: Construction-related art 1949–1990

Once again, the focus is on a special project: for two years, the East German Savings Bank Foundation and the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments and Archaeology Saxony-Anhalt have been recording construction-related art and works of art in public spaces that were created in Dessau between 1949 and 1990.
